After a long time break from updating my site, yes the site is still up, I am back, here again. Quite a few changes happened since I last wrote to you.
Celebrated my birthday in Kauai, March 2020, and the pandemic lockdown started when we arrived at Seattle airport. the times now changed, everything became like a bad dream. I lost my job due to Covid complications, after 3 months I found a great job as a contractor at Philips. It was an amazing experience for me. I never had to go to the office, everyone worked from home/remote.
I lost my father on November 25th, 2020. After almost 1 year, I still feel deep sadness losing him. At the facility, he was being taken care of due to his advanced Alzheimer’s, caught evil Covid, and could not survive. He passed silently and peacefully. Unfortunately, he had to be buried right away in a special cemetery they prepared for COVID victims. It is very sad, we could not even burry him in our family cemetery under that special tree next to my mom, my grandma and grandpa.
I moved to Wisconsin from California, during the Pandemic, December 2020. My boyfriend and I sold our homes, packed our belongings, moved 2000 West. Packed my car and my 2 dogs, and after 3 days 4 nights, arrived at our new home. It was December 29th, our Christmas was on the road. Winter already started here at the time, started snowing shortly after we arrived. Dogs loved the snow and the walks they got every day. Since we did not like the layout of this home and needed some renovations, we kept looking for another house. The market is very hot here, not many homes go up on sale, and the location is really nice, right by the Wisconsin River, and a small city. We found another house and moved to that one after about 5 months. Almost November, now almost after 1 year, here we are, expanding our driveway, putting a shed pad. Doggies still get their daily walks. I hired a trainer, it helped to give me tools to work with when I walk the dogs. Bekci gets anxious to say hi when he sees other dogs, Badem is more chill….but squirrels are what they get really excited about every day.
What about me!
I continued working for Philips, I was very lucky they let me work remotely from Wisconsin, but my job was still a contractor. I had no benefits. Working in the corporate field since 2000, I had many contract works but this was the longest and finest. I kept my eyes open for any local work. LinkedIn was my best friend, one day I found the job at Advarra, applied for it, interviewed remotely, and got hired in June 2021. Now I work from home, not sure if and when the office will be open, but with full benefits, and great learning experience, I enjoy working for Advarra.
Also, I signed up for a Master’s of Science in Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine at Maharishi International University. My program, 3 years long, started in August 2019, and now after 2.5 years, I am in my last year, and finishing around June 2022. This year is the most challenging, assignments, case studies, writing papers, discussions etc. You will find my papers on my blog soon. Meanwhile, my Ayurveda dravya guna, herbology study with Dr. Amruta, starts today, October 25th, 2021. It is a 1-year program. I am very much enjoying my studies and looking forward to the future when I start my Ayurveda practice.
I have to write another blog about my Wisconsin experience and what we are doing so far. For now, I will leave you guys with best wishes and good health.
